A psychiatric evaluation is an assessment, based on present problems and symptoms, ofan individual’s biological, mental, and social functioning, which may or may not result in a diagnosis of a mental illness. Psychiatric evaluations are commonly used to diagnose anxiety, depression, addiction, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
